    Substitute frame method is used for the analysis of complex structure I.e multi-storeyed building because analysis of multi-story building is very complicated and long calculations needed. Substitute frame method used for sudden analysis and gives approximate values.

    The moment distribution method is used for the analysis of applied loads on the structure in the substitute frame method. This method is generally used to determine the vertical loads and horizontal loads. Vertical load is a combination of live load and dead loads

    This method is applied only or vertical loads.

    Dead loads include self-weight of slab column and beams which is analysed in substitute frame method.

    In this method, the beams which are at floor level as well as the columns above the floor and below which are situated at the fixed far end will be e analysed. In some cases the bending moment is not distributed over the far end, thus the moment is computed independently at each floor and retained on that floor for further analysis.

    • Architectural Drawing can be termed as the mother drawing for all the other drawing.
    • Structural drawing is the backbone drawing of the building.
    •  Electrical drawing represent the details of electric fixtures, location of switches.
    • Plumbing drawing give the location of sanitary, piping for water supply system.

    Very happy to see how determined you are. From your question, it’s very much clear that you have a great interest in structural engineering. Being an entrepreneur and bringing up a structural design firm is a very big opportunity which has great competition.

    According to my opinion as to start with,

    1. Go for industrial training during your engineering period.
    2. Also, get training for structural design and drawing software.
    3. Once you complete your engineering, register as a civil engineer and become an authorized civil engineer. You will be provided with a license to draw building plans and designs. The procedure is different in different states.
    4. Once you complete academics get into a structural design firm and explore maximum.
    5. Finally, when you feel you are ready, start drawing for your clients. As clients always prefer experienced professionals, I would recommend you to get experience by working in an external firm.

    At any point of time, if you wish to study and research more on structural design, having a PG program is a good decision. This not only increases your knowledge but also is an added advantage for your self startup.

The floor plan designed by architect for flat area but my site has steep slope what should I do and structural drawings doesn’t shows details clear!

    There are two ways to set out foundation on a steep slope :-

    1. Cut and fill refers to the process of leveling out the ground for the foundation by adding soil, removing it, or both. Soil may be brought in to fill the plot and make it level, or it can be dug (cut) from the slope and either trucked out or used to shore up retaining walls for the home. Depending on the grade, soil conditions, and other factors, cutting and filling can make construction multiple time more expensive than that for a home on a flat site.

    2. Using stilts is an alternative to cutting into the slope that involves using a crane to lift the home onto supporting wood or steel columns. This can be a much more cost-effective method than cut and fill and can also open up the realm of possibilities for home replacement such as building out water over trees or water.
