On 27th January 2021, Virgin Hyperloop shared its vision for the future of high-speed transportation, taking viewers on a virtual hyperloop journey by showing end-to-end passenger experience for the 21st century.
Virgin Hyperloop aims to transport people across great distances at speeds reaching an astonishing 670 mph. The fares will vary depending on the route and would be somewhat similar to the cost of driving rather than flying.
Virgin Hyperloop is working with world-class partners across various industries like Teague for the pod designs, Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) for designing the portals, SeeThree for the video and animation, Man Made Music for the score and sonic identity – to create a holistic, multi-sensory passenger experience that goes beyond any other form of mass transit system.
This development has come after the successful test ride conducted by the company on 8th November 2020. Currently, Virgin Hyperloop is working hard to get clearances for hyperloop systems around the world. The company is moving with a target to obtain safety certification by 2025, with commercial operations beginning in 2030.
