Hello sir,I am a newly recruited site engineer so i am having a doubt. In the design drawing it was done based on M25 concrete and Fe500 steel and while making the BoQ we have mentioned M20 and Fe500. Now we are bound to go with M20 as per the BoQ since the contract has been signed and agreed upon.
I have asked the Structural engineer whether its ok to move ahead with M20 and he said it is OK but there might be need to change the reinforcement as well. The design was done in staad pro.
My question is, If it is OK to use M20 instead of M25, is it OK to keep the same Fe500 reinforcement?
    Thank you

There is increase in the length of foundation column from 1m to 1.5m. its dimension is 350mmx350mm. It still remains as a Short Column. I hope it will still be safe enough

Now my question is, is it really necessary to increase the length of foundation column or can we increase the depth of RRM layer below the foundation pad to maintain the same length of the foundation column?
