It is nonstructural crack
Crazing crack may be due to
To connect it we should repair and mainten regularly with proper care.

Basically in cement concrete we used 10mm to 20mm aggregate, And and PCC we may use 40mm rarely. 40mm aggregate is used for PCC in foundation or base course in rigid pavement.

Micro crack we found in younger concrete Reason of micro crack is Due to plastic shrinkage Due to higher temperature at site Due to improper curing Due to higher water cement ratio Due to improper cement used at particular site (like we cannot use rapid hardening cement in mass concreting) Due to prRead more

Reason of micro crack is
We can reduced that micro crack by adding some fibres to the concrete,

Proctor test is conducted to identify the compaction of different types of soil at different moisture content.
It is a very important test for structural stability on the construction site.
According to different types of soil & moisture content at the site, we should develop that type of soil samples in the lab and do proctor tests to identify engineering property of that particular soil type.
From this test, we can get OMC & MDD of soil.

arch dam is constructed when dam abutment has rocky strata and have higher bearing capacity to resist trust from arching action of an arch dam.
see arch dam in figure
it is constructed when river run between two hills and the dam site has great depth, and less width at that location arch dam is very economical to another type of dam.
buttress dam is a dam in which has straight alignment and which have buttressed support on the downstream side.
buttress is provided to additional support of dam structure .
the main purpose of the buttress is to provide additional safety against the overturning of the dam. this type of dam is constructed at where dam height is high.

Basic difference is retaining wall is designed to resist backfill earth pressure and breast wall is resist for natural earthen slope of hilly area
In hill. When road is construct, at that time we need to cut-off some portion of hill and basically we construct two wall one is breast wall which is on hill side of the road to give stability of hill slop and another one is retaining wall which is construct on valley side of road which wall have backfill pressure plus road pressure on backfill so we need to design retaining wall for that backfill & surcharge .
See figure for different between retaining wall and breast wall.

We are generally use steel as a reinforcement.
We doesn’t use aluminium because of soft metal property
