    Very important question before providing clearances to pour concrete. I would follow following steps. Ensure Contractor has bar bending schedule and approved drawing.     Very important question before providing clearances to pour concrete. I would follow following steps.

    1. Ensure Contractor has bar bending schedule and approved drawing.
    2. Ensure reinforcement used are approved grade and test certificates are in place.
    3. Check  diameter of rebar ( reinforcement)
    4. Check spacing
    5. Check banding radius
    6. Check number of bars
    7. Check laps are of proper length. Some time couplers are used to join the reinforcement. Couplers must be approved.
    8. Check proper cover to rebar is in place.
    9. Covers should be approved
    10. Check the reinforcement installed does not sag  or move. For this ensure you use chairs.
    11. Tie the rebars together using soft annealed lining wire and turn the know inside.
    12. Reinforcement must be clean without any dirt or coating.
    13. Some time special reinforcement steel is provided around openings. Ensure this is in place.
    14. It is normal for QC departments to use check lists for this.

    Here, the designers gets a natural advantage of using T or L beams in any structure with slab beam construction. It is mainly used in frame type structure. A T-beam or Tee-beam is used in a construction process which is a load bearing structure of a reinforced concrete, wood or metal having T-shaped cross-section. The vertical section (web) of the beam below the compression flange serves to resist shear stress and to provide greater separation for the coupled forces of bending.
    Therefore, in any situation of beam-slab we can use T-beam.

    Basically in construction, deadmen refers to a heavy weight, typically a mass concrete block used to provide support or resistance to a load. These blocks are usually embedded firmly in soil, however some blocks may simply rest on the ground surface. A deadmen also referred to as a jacking lug.

    Plastering deductions as per IS code 1200. For opening of size 0.5 m2 to 3 m2 area, deduction is made on one face of the wall. For openings of size above 3 m2, deduction is made on both faces of the wall, but the area of sill, jamb and soffits of the opening is added.

    Fire clay :-

    Fire clay is a range of refractory clays used in the manufacture of ceramics, especially fire brick. The United States Environmental Protection Agency defines fire clay very generally as a “mineral aggregate composed of hydrous silicates of aluminium (Al2O3·2SiO2·2H2O) with or without free silica.”

    Properties of fire clay :-

    Fire clay is resistant to high temperatures, having fusion points higher than 1,600 °C (2,910 °F); therefore it is suitable for lining furnaces, as fire brick, and for manufacture of utensils used in the metalworking industries, such as crucibles, saggars, retorts and glassware. Because of its stability during firing in the kiln, it can be used to make complex items of pottery such as pipes and sanitary ware.

    2. Actually, corrugation increases the bending strength of the sheet when the direction is perpendicular to the corrugations.

    3. Steel must be stretched to bend in the direction of perpendicular to the corrugations.

    4. Usually, every sheet is already manufactured linger in its strong direction.
