It depends on the length and complexity of the project.
Time of project varies from project to project. But, If tasks are scheduled properly and interrelated, all works. Then you did it in minimum time.
More time is required for analysis and finishing, so it must be done optimistically.
The economy is very important to point during project scheduling. Because of the increase in time, decrease the economy of the project.

If you require a nice standard building with good amount of curing and strength, it will easily take 6–9months for completion. Sometime it would even take 12months depending on the area of construction, availablity of labour and in cases of pandemics(like in the case of corona now).
Also the completion time depends of how you make the payment. If you depend on bank loan then there are chances of the work getting a bit prolonged as bank disburse s the amount at different stages of completion.
Always keep a month as buffer period after the agreement is done as the contractor will have to get the site ready, install all the required facilities like electricity, bore, watchman, getting structure drawing cross verifying them, soil testing, etc.
Work upto the first slab usually takes time as there would be a lot of ground work to be done, there after the work can be done faster and simultaneous works can be done.
Just make sure you talk and discuss the time limit with your contractor clearly and mention it in the agreement so both the parties have enough clarity about this. Also once the building is nearing its final stages do not pressure the contractor to complete soon otherwise there might be chances of the work getting affected.

The most average time to build a multi family house which varies the number of units in a building.
In 2014 building the twenty or more units took near about 15 months to complete from the time of obtaining permits. And properties with 10 to 19 units physically finished in 13.6 months whereas 5 to 9 unit building came in at 11.5 months.
The average time from permits to start does not follow the same pattern with respect to property size. Properties with 10 to 19 units had the longest average waiting period.
it depends on many factors but basically on its size and type of finishing required so plz specify and exact time can be optimized
