If we have two spread footing foundation (Isolated Pads) of square sizes
(1m x 1m) and (2m x 2m),with axial loads ; (10t) and (40t) respectively, by assuming the soil features and specification for the two pads ,is the same ,
So which of them will settled more or the settlement will be equal for both? and why?

Since the dimentions and magnitude of the 2nd is more than the first one, the settlement would not be same roughly.
Bcoz the dimension are twice the 1st one, Magnitude is 4 times the 1st one.
So bcoz of this, obviously the 2nd footing will be settled more.

First Footing – 1m X 1m
Second Footing – 2m X 2m
i.e dimension of second footing is twice the first footing.
Applied load: First Footing- 10t
Second Footing- 40t
i.e applied load on second footing is four times the first footing.
So from the observation, settlement in the second footing is greater than the first footing.

Equations of Applicable codes can be used to calculate the deflection of these two pad foundation since they are the same except their dimension and load magnitude.
It can be estimated roughly that, the settlement of the second one would be twice the first one; the dimension of the second one is doubled whereas its imposed load is quadrupled.
