Capping beams for piles aim at transferring loads from closely spaced columns or walls into a row of piles. However, ground beams are structural elements to connect adjacent pile caps to improve the stability of foundation.

Hi, In simple words, Capping beams are used for transfer loads from closely spaced columns or any type of wall into a pile. Ground beams are the ones which are provided in between the adjacent pile caps and it is used to compress the struts are ties to prevent the displacement in a lateral direction or it may be buckling of piles under the distributed loads which are uneven in nature on pile caps. but both the capping beams and ground pains are used to sustain a differential settlement of piles.

Capping beam
The Capping beam is a steel, and a concrete beam that ties all the piling together creates the foundation for the suspended slab and helps to hold the earth and neighboring houses back.
The steel reinforcement bars are placed over the top of the piling cages with legs designed to the engineer’s specs.
Ground Beam
The Ground Beam is the beam, which is provided usually at the foundation level to support building walls, joists, etc. Typically the ground beams are directly rested on the ground, sometimes they can be supported by end piers

Both of them have to be specially designed to cater to differential settlement of piles.
Capping beam performs the same functions as pile caps.
However, ground beams are structural elements to connect adjacent pile caps to improve the stability of the foundation.

There is a minor difference between ground beams and capping beams Ground Beams are provided between the pile caps, it provides structural stability and provide strength to a foundation While Capping Beams ties all piles together and helps to distribute load of superstructure to the substructure. It has the same function as pile caps, in addition to distribute the load of the superstructure.
