Here, the designers gets a natural advantage of using T or L beams in any structure with slab beam construction. It is mainly used in frame type structure. A T-beam or Tee-beam is used in a construction process which is a load bearing structure of a reinforced concrete, wood or metal having T-shaped cross-section. The vertical section (web) of the beam below the compression flange serves to resist shear stress and to provide greater separation for the coupled forces of bending.
Therefore, in any situation of beam-slab we can use T-beam.

Depending upon the nature of environments, forces, and boundary conditions applied to the structure, we have to design the shape of the structure as well as individual RCC components.
Theoretical Best place for T-Beam
Consider a case where the dominant load component along the entire length of any RCC component is bending moment in a fixed direction. Hence, the tension side of the component is fixed. Also, both ends of the components are transferring moments smoothly to the other part of the structure.
So, we can design the component in the following ways:
So, we will design this component as T-Beam. No other sections will be as effective as T-Beam for this theoretical conditions.
Practical cases
In most of the practical cases, following points are also considered for design of RCC components:

T beam is used in frame structure or any special structure.
If the load is low, then we should use a single RC beam.
If load is intermediate, then we should use a double RC beam.
If the load is very high, then we should use the T beam at the intermediate beam and L beam at the edge.
