Glass bead flooring is a kind of flooring in which glass beads are mixed into epoxy or polyurethane floor coating and collectively applied so as to achieve a textured yet smooth floor finish. It is highly slip-resistant, highly serviceable, self-leveling, long-lasting, and easy to apply. It may also be coated with another layer of epoxy or polyurethane.

This kind of flooring is just the right choice for food products’ industries, especially for the poultry, dairy, meat and beverage industries for the following reasons :

    • Non porous surfaces with the absence of cracks and holes.
    • Skid resistance and spill resistance very important for beverage industries.
    • Anti – microbial properties, crucial to the food and beverage industry, since any growth on the floor can invite contamination above the floor as well.
    • Chemical resistance and moisture resistance, because deteriorated floor may cause contamination.
    • Easy to clean or sanitize.
    • Good pH resistance.
    • Strong resistance to thermal cycling.
    • Quick curing.

Here I am discussing about High humidity & rain. Actually, the compressive strength of concrete reduces with the high relative humidity which results in durability problem. Due to higher moisture in the surface of concrete results a growth of mold and bacteria.
